Get a Blog

A simple 10-step, 10-minute checklist from a veteran blogger

Hi there, I’m Amy. I started my first blog over 20 years ago. I've taught beginners how to start WordPress blogs since 2010 (testimonials below).

My advice? Ditch the expensive courses and complicated tutorials. Seriously. So unnecessary. The following setup is not perfect (no setup is), but it's the best for beginners. It's quick, has the most features for the lowest cost and easily expands as you grow. Plus, get your money back within 30 days if it's not for you. Simple.

Why do I offer this for free? I'm an affiliate, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I earn a commission from the service I've paid for & recommend below. Win-win. Alright, enough talking.

How to start a WordPress blog

You need two things to start a blog: hosting + WordPress. Hosting puts your blog online. WordPress puts your words in blog form. Get both by following these instructions.

You have a self-hosted WordPress blog. I know what you’re thinking: “Wait…that’s it? I have a blog?” Yep. Go ahead, write your first blog post: Dashboard > Posts > Add New.

Or maybe read the FAQ first.
